Who is that person in your life that is your anchor? Everyone has to have one.
I live life on the edge, by the edge I mean throwing myself into everything, often all at once, as I have a fear of missing out on life.
Im a yes person, I will give everything a shot – once!!! With this being my nature, I needed a grounding influence. Although miles away it is always my Mum that gives that love and foundation. Just thinking of all she has got me through, builds that hot ball of emotion at the back of my throat. Who I am today is due to this remarkable woman. She is part the reason why I am the yes person, but she is also the part that has kept me insane in my insane life of fashion, travel and being.
It is notes, and quotes like the one I want to share with you, that I get readily from her.
With Mothers day ( for the USA ) just days away, this is my gratitude for the woman that made me the woman I am today.
Read and remember, this one is special……
To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams before the crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing
The person who risks nothing … does nothing … has nothing … is nothing.
You may avoid suffering and sorrow, but you simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love … live
Chained by your certitudes, you are a slave; you have forfeited freedom.
Only a person who risks is free.
