Goodness On-The-Go

Running around the city from shoot to shoot is tiring!  I find I’m always pressed for time to grab a bite to eat, but when I do I search for the nearest salad bar to do up my own. This is not only a healthy alternative for take away, but will seriously refuel you for the rest of the day.

Choosing your own salad, as silly as it sounds, can be really daunting! More so when there’s a line out the door and you’re stuck between choosing Kale or Mixed Greens. By the end, the options are too much that you end up with a bowl filled with half Mediterranean and half Mexican! Here’s a quick guide I always go by making my salad outcome not only great, but healthy!

  1. Mixed Green Salad
  2. Chickpeas for your protein (or chicken breast)
  3. As many Vegetables as you like!
    1. Beetroot
    2. Avocado
    3. Carrot
    4. Broccoli
    5. Cucumber
    6. Cherry Tomato
  4. Pecans or Pine Nuts
  5. No Fruit
  6. Olive Oil Dressing
  7. Pepper
