The West Village weekend market is where you’ll find me every Saturday morning. Supporting small and local is something I encourage all to consider. Growing up in Australia where the produce is fresh and in season is something I definitely took for granted. Since leaving home, I take sourcing real and clean produce very seriously.
The magnitude of the big city often means the demand for REAL food outweighs the supply.
I believe the keystone to health is what you put into your body. If you are eating from a packet that has more than 4 ingredients, or even worse… ingredients you can’t spell or say – stop eating it!
This is why I stock directly from the farmers markets every Saturday morning. Abingdon Square in West Village conducts a farmer’s markets with fresh, in season produce. Last Saturday basil and tomatoes were in abundance, so my creative juice’s were set on cooking a grand fritter with local eggs, upstate goats cheese, and paddock fresh vegetables. The preparation was fun, but I didn’t get the presentation down… on the final flip, it was no-longer picture perfect!!
…But hey it tasted amazing. The local tomatoes made it!
