Smoothie Routine

On the train to work I was reading an article my mum sent me – she is often my voice of inspiration!

It was discussing the importance of being a morning person and having a set routine… whether this is breathing, reading or having a lemon water. It got me thinking what my routine is! I wouldn’t say my smoothie making is a routine I can’t live without (traveling often makes this difficult), but it is a wonderful routine I love to explore with when I am in my humble New York apartment.

So this morning I had myself a strong citrus flare!

Ingredients:

  • lemon
  • ginger
  • grapefruit
  • acai berry
  • spinach
  • cucumber
  • celery
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • ice
  • 1/2 avocado

This smoothie requires a lot of blending in the magical Vita Mix, and I’m going to warn you it’s not for the faint hearted. It is highly nourishing and vitamin loading, but due to the celery and spinach it’s a smoothie you will have to chew through! You should leave the celery out if you prefer a smoother texture.

Routines are lovely to live by as they are grounding, and balancing for each of us. Never the less, a routine can be flexible as life sometimes really does get in the way!
