Exploring Up North

Although I’m Australian, I seem to fall victim of seeing other countries before my own backyard! Recently, my youngest sister moved to Brisbane, Queensland – giving me the opportunity to see a side of Australia I haven’t been able to do yet.

The lifestyle is bliss – if you are not outside running by 8am, you are looked upon poorly! Due to the humid environment, everything seems to happen in the morning. It oozed of health and wellness, and everyone was sun kissed and smiling. Needless to say, the food culture was no different. I found myself over indulging at Primal Café, a paleo haven.

If it’s lunch or breakfast you’re after, James St Markets is a favourite of mine. Or if it’s dinner – be sure to check out Eat Street Markets! Filled with all different fresh food stands, you won’t be disappointed.

A ferry ride along the Brisbane river is definitely a tourist trap, but it’s an amazing perspective of the city. Easy day trips from Brisbane are a must! Noosa is an hour north of Brisbane, and Byron Bay will send you two hours south. Both incredible tropical havens, which will be detailed in a coming blog post.

Who has been to Brisbane? Would love any great recommendations for my next visit.
